Arrival

During our arrival process cars form a waiting line heading east on 9th Street, turning right (only) into our Parking Lot. Please only access 9th Street from State Street. (See map on below.) Cars will move down 9th Street to the north side of the school building into the loading zone. Students remain in the car, for their safety, until a teacher opens their door. A teacher will be on duty, ready to supervise children at 8:00 for Half Day AM classes, 8:20 for Full Day classes and 12:00 for Half Day PM classes. Half Day student’s parents arriving after 8:15 will be asked to park and walk their child in. Full day students arriving before 8:20 will be asked to circle around to the end of the car line. The teachers on duty will greet your child and help them out of the car. The children will proceed inside the school building. The duty teacher goes off duty at 8:15 for Half Day AM, 8:50 for Full Day and 12:15 for Half Day PM. If you did not make it to the front of the car line by the time the teacher goes off duty, you will need to park your car and walk your child to the school’s front door. If you arrive after 8:20 for Half Day AM, 8:55 for Full Day or 12:20 for Half Day PM you will need to check your child in using your driver’s license at the kiosk in the hall as they will be counted tardy. They can safely find their way from there to their classroom. Your student will get a greeting when they enter their classroom.

Dismissal

Dismissal of classes will be at 11:00 for Half Day AM and 3:00 for Full Day and Half Day PM. Please be on time each day. Children tend to get concerned when they are the last child left. We will be utilizing the electronic system Car Rider Plus. Children will receive a backpack tag that will be attached to their backpack, and kept there, the entire year.  Parents will receive 2 hanging car tags required for pickup everyday. Additional tags can be purchased in the office during regular school hours. If your child’s plan for getting home changes, please write a note or call the office to inform us of the change or else we will assume the usual plan is to be followed. An ID will be required when a hanging car tag is not present. Children will remain inside the building until the duty teacher calls them to a colored pole. Cars form a waiting line heading east on 9th Street, turning right (only) into our Parking Lot. Please only access 9th Street from State Street. (See map below.) Cars will move down 9th Street to the north side of the school building into the loading zone. After your child is loaded into your car please pull as far forward as possible before assisting them with their buckle and then exit the parking lot.  The Car Rider Plus numbered cards will be used everyday for identification. We will ask for an ID when there is no car tag or if staff is unfamiliar with the person picking up.
